Widely separated storms were developing this afternoon. Almost every one of them was over the NE quadrant of the state. They extended generally from a small one over NE Jefferson County northeastward toward Chattanooga. A moderate to heavy shower was along the Blount/St. Clair County line. The heaviest shower, part of a developing thunderstorm, was near Ft. Payne moving NE slowly at 5 mph. It could produce some heavy rain, frequent lightning and strong gusts to about 40 mph as it continues moving toward the NE.

Other showers were beginning to develop, in the last few minutes, over NW Alabama from about Jasper west and north. The strongest one, other than DeKalb County, was a storm just south of Oneonta moving generally northward could have gusts to 45 mph and possible dangerous lightning.

Here we go again.
