A line of showers and thunderstorms moved into NW Alabama late tonight.
Around 11 pm, some beneficial rain was falling over Lamar, Marion and Franklin County. The storms were moving northward but the system was spreading east ever-so-slowly.
More to the west, a line of very strong storms, dumping heavy rain, extended across Central and SW Mississippi into South Louisiana near Baton Rouge. Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were posted for the areas aound Baton Rouge.
A Tornado Watch is in effect until 4 am (Friday morning) for SE Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans and Extreme South Mississippi.
SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOKS
Remainder of tonight: A slight risk for much of Louisiana and almost all of Mississippi.
For Friday: A slight risk for most of Kansas and Nebraska, Western Iowa, Extreme NW Missouri including Kansas City.
