ALABAMA
Rain was extensive across most parts of the state this afternoon. However, so far, near the Tennessee River amounts have been quite light. Steady rain was falling all the way from Marion and Pickens County eastward to the Georgia border. The rain was moderate to heavy at times in Walker, Jefferson, Shelby and St. Clair County eastward.
Way down south, another rather broad zone of moderate to heavy rain was near the Mississippi coast eastward across coastal Alabama into almost all of NW Florida.
Here is Alabama, the rain will be widespread at times tonight along with a few thunderstorms. The atmosphere will be more unstable Friday and the south half of the state has been placed under a slight risk of severe weather. It looks like our showers and thunderstorms will decrease rather quickly late in the day Friday.
