Scattered showers and thunderstorms have increased in number this afternoon across Central Alabama, but there were very few from Birmingham northward.

At 1:50 p.m., the best array of showers and storms were across places like Perry, Chilton, Autauga and Coosa Counties northeastward to near Cleburne and Calhoun Counties in NE Alabama. Everything was moving generally eastward.

The best lightning display was right in the heart of Central Alabama in Chilton, West Coosa and extreme South Shelby County. Also, there is a good bit of lightning over NW Pickens County in West Alabama.
