A line of showers and thunderstorms (not a solid line) developed this afternoon all the way from near the Alabama coast northeastward to west of Montgomery to Clay County and to Calhoun County in NE Alabama, then all the way through NW Georgia, Western North Carolina and into Virginia. It is a long curved line and there is lightning scattered all along the line.
The NW half of Alabama has not received anything. Part of this line of storms was triggered by outflow from the massive congestion of thunderstorms that pounded away across Kentucky today. The storms were moving generally east.
Some of the heavier showers from these storms were over South Clay County and over NE Calhoun County.
