Rain is getting progressively heavier over SW Alabama and moderate to heavy rain was spreading NE into part of Central Alabama.
At 6:30 pm, steady rain had advanced as far NE as Tuscaloosa, Centreville and Marion. Rain was also increasing also across the Birmingham Metro area although not heavy yet.
It was pouring rain over the entire southern third of Mississippi.
Off to the west, a line of heavy showers and some thunderstorms was advancing eastward from West Mississippi.
A Tornado Watch continues near the coast until 10 o’clock tonight including the Mobile area.
Well over two inches of rain has fallen at Muscle Shoals in NW Alabama today. Some other amounts:

1.75 inches had already occurred at Pensacola Naval Air Station this morning, That is the same station that recorded 14.98 inches a few days ago!
