Pouring rain now in parts of North and NW Alabama.
Heaviest rain is in a west to east zone across parts of Lamar, Fayette and Walker County.
Moving steadily east. Some of this heavier rain should reach parts of the Birmingham area by 9 o’clock or so.
NWS/Jackson posted Severe Thunderstorm Warnings as far east as West Point and Columbus.
All of Alabama under a slight risk next 24 hours by the Storm prediction Center. Exceptions are Southeast Alabama and the Extreme South.
Very heavy rain expected which means some possible flash-flood issues.
