A band of showers across part of West Central Alabama was moving almost due north. At 9:35 am, most of the showers were over Pickens County eastward to Bibb County and northward into Tuscaloosa County.
A few moderate to heavy showers from about Moundville northward to north of Tuscaloosa. Lightning detection equipment indicates only a small amount of lightning.
Off to the west, showers were much more extensive over the west half of Mississippi and into Arkansas and Louisiana.

An upper-level ridge to our west and surface high pressure to the northeast will keep Alabama dry and slightly cooler this weekend. As we head into the week, the ridge will spread further into the state, warming us some and keeping rain chances at bay. Continue reading
