Changes are underway in Alabama weather as mid-morning arrives.
At 8 o’clock, temperatures varied from a very chilly 41 at Cullman Airport (Vinemont) to 63 at Montgomery and most areas southward.
Translation: A distinct cold front is pushing SE across the state. NW winds will easily gust to 25 mph today and a Lake Wind Advisory is posted for much of the area.
Significant rain has moved mostly east of Alabama, but some patches of light rain is still around.
The nearest clear weather was over Extreme NW Mississippi and West Tennessee. Clearing will start in Extreme NW Alabama soon, places like Waterloo, Florence and Tuscumbia. (I still hope to see Waterloo one of these days. I have never been there but it is high on my list)
Big variation in rainfall from this storm system. Big dropoff in amounts west and NW, virtually none in places like Livingston.
