Scattered showers were fairly widespread across Alabama at noon. While most of them were light, there were a few moderate showers over NE Alabama. Probably the heaviest rain of all was between Centreville, Marion and Greensville in Central Alabama, especially the ones over NW Perry County. All of the showers continue to move north and NE.
Considering the entire storm system, by far the heaviest rain was falling over the waters of the Northern Gulf of Mexico. Too bad, because our old friend, the Gulf of Mexico, does not need any rain. We could definitely use it across Alabama.
Cooler air will start flowing into Alabama late tonight. The weekend looks like mostly sunshine with early morning lows both Saturday and Sunday in the mid 30s. In fact, some of the latest weather models point to low 30s.
