Not a great deal going on. That large area of heavy showers and thunderstorms (the second one) that moved into NW Alabama last night, shows up at 7 this morning as a fairly narrow band of showers from east of Birmingham northward to the Tennessee River near Decatur.

By far the heavier showers were closer to the Tennessee River.

Much of NW Alabama got a real old-fashioned soaking overnight (I don’t know what a new-fashioned soaking is like)

Jim Higgins, the 3340 Skywatcher for Hamilton received an additional 1.05 inches of rain since midnight bringing the total since 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon to 3.30 inches!

Bear Creek, in NE Marion County got well over two inches.

Very good chance that most communities will get wet today and especially tomorrow. A weak cold (“cool”) front will struggle to reach North Alabama tomorrow and generally stall. This will enhance the chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Another big batch of strong storms now over NW Arkansas pushing east and SE. We will watch those as the day goes on.

Look for Brian’s video discussion a little later this morning.
