A line of showers, along with some thunderstorms, have developed across East/Central Alabama and they were moving slowly toward the NW.

These showers are in no way a part of Hurricane Ike–not even a distant cousin. They formed along an old dew point front, which is almost impossible to identify any longer.

At 2:10 p.m., most of that line of showers extended from Chilton County east across Coosa, Tallapoosa, North Chambers and South Randolph Counties. Rain was heavy in spots, especially over North Chambers and South Randolph Counties generally between Lafayette and Wedowee.

Another separate cluster of showers was over South/Central Alabama in the general vicinity of Monroe, Butler, East Wilcox and South Dallas Counties. Those were also moving NW.
