Many thanks to Bill Murray for hanging in there all night with me as we tried to keep the blog freshly updated. Bill handled it alone for the past several hours while I was tied up doing radio updates.

We both have been awake since yesterday morning and may be a little droopy.

The weather is slowly becoming more reasonable but there is still a lot of strong thunderstorms.

In fact a whole long line of them. At 5:20, the line extended deom near Scottsboro in the NE corner of the state southwestward along the Cullman-Blount County line, along the Walker-Jefferson County line to near Tuscaloosa. Additional strong storms over Perry County were moving NE into Bibb and Chilton County.

FOR METRO BIRMINGHAM
Morning drive will be wet, wet, wet. That line of strong storms will be moving slowly east across the area with much lightning and downpuurs of rain. Look for over an inch of rain in the next couple of hours and that may cause some street flooding.

A number of counties were under a Tornado Warning during the night, several counties 2 or 3 times. There was damage across Walker, Fayette, Lamar and Cullman. The extent will be better determined after daylight arrives. There were also injuries.

A new Tornado Warning has just been issued in Chilton County until 6 am mostly for areas south of Clanton.
