Still not much action. Showers even less than earlier this morning.
At 11:30, some scattered light showers were generally along U.S. 278 across North Central Alabama. After branching off from U.S. 78 near Hamilton, U.S. 278 goes all the way across the state through Double Springs, Cullman, Attalla, Gadsden, Piedmont and on into Cedartown, Georgia.
The showers were moving almost due north.
Very little rain out of these.
Way far away, down south, there were other showers near Mobile.
BE THANKFUL FOR REASONABLY FRIENDLY JULY TEMPERATURES
Just look what we were dealing with at this time in 1980 (Birmingham as an example)

Every day that it was 100 or higher, we did not have a drop of rain
The 106 high on July 13 was only one degree below Birmingham’s hottest in history which is 107 on July 29, 1930
Be thankful that our temperatures during our current drought are more user-friendly. Summer droughts and heat waves often go hand-in-hand.
