The second batch of thunderstorms that moved into Alabama from Mississippi has mostly exited the state into NW Georgia. This is producing heavy rain around Rome and Atlanta. Meanwhile, a third batch of storms, much smaller, was entering NW Alabama from NE Mississippi at 4:30 this morning. Some of the heavier rain with those was spreading into NW Alabama’s Marion County. Those scattered storms extend back westward almost to the Mississippi River. There is considerable lightning in that group of storms. Movement is almost due east and during this morning those storms will track eastward, mainly across North Alabama.

There has not been a severe thunderstorm warning for any Alabama county since about 10:00 last evening. That one was issued from Mobile.

This will probably be our last update until some point later this morning. James will be along with the morning video update by around 6:00. Later today I will try to post a selected group of 24-hour rain amounts in Alabama, because they were quite impressive.
