Showers and storms continue across Alabama on this Satuday aftenoon.
Activity is east of a line now from Decatur to Double Springs to Fayette to Carrollton.
Nothing is severe across North or North Central Alabama at this time, but there are some good downpours in storms over parts of Cullman and Blount Counties as well as Walker back into Fayette and extreme northern Tuscaloosa County.
The cell passing just north of Cullman may have small hail.
More storms will continue through the afternoon and into the evening over the area until the cold front moves through. There is still the potential for some severe weather over North and North Central Alabama, but it will be more localized.
To the south, it is a different story still…
A developing storm was intensifying rapidly over northern Choctaw County moving NE. It will cross extreme southern Sumter and southern Greene County before moving into Hale County. It will pass south of Livingston, north of Linden and then head in the general direction of Greensboro. It will have to be watched. It is in rich air and there is still lots of shear. Helicity values are maximized in that area.
A tornado watch remanin in effect until 6 p.m. for South Central and South Alabama.
A powerful storm comple with the potential for damaging winds ad a brief spin up tornado is passing through the Montgomery area at this time from Prattville south to Greenville. Severe thunderstorm arning is in effect for Lowndes and Montgomery Counties.
