Showers and storms redeveloped over North Alabama during the overnight.
At 6 a.m., a line of showers and storms continued over the northeastern quarter of Alabama from Madison and Jackson Counties, down through Morgan, Marshall, DeKalb and Cherokee Counties.
The strongest storms were over Cullman County moving into Blount and northern Jefferson County frin the city of Cullman down to just west of Hayden.
The NWS Huntsville has Significant Weather Alerts ahead of some of these storms.
Scattered showers and storms were over Central Alabama from southern Jefferson Countt down into Shelby, Bibb, Chilton and Autauga Counties.
The heaviest showers are located from Centreville to Columbiana and north into northern Shelby County around Pelham and Inverness.
A few lucky spots picked up a half to maybe one inch of rain overnight according to radar estimates, but those reports will be spotty.
More showers and storms are back over western and southern Mississippi and will be moving eastward into Alabama later today.
Drier air aloft will end the showers tonight, but a warm and humid airmass will still be in place Monday and Tuesday. Afternoon storms will develop and some of those could be strong.
A cold front will bring a round of strong to severe storms Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.
This will be followed by cooler conditions for late in the week into the weekend.
