Showers and thunderstorms in a long south to north line through the heart of Alabama…and all the way from the Florida to Tennessee border.

Not a solid line by any means. Big gaps. The most numerous showers and storms south of Montgomery. Everything moving toward the NNE.

Small cluster of showers/storms over NE Jefferson County producing heavy rain in NE Trussville. Occasional thunder but no wind.

In Central Alabama, heavy showers over South Coosa and SW Chilton County.

Near the Tennessee River, heavy rain in the general vicinity of Athens, Decatur and Huntsville.

This is going to last several more days, even through most of the weekend. We will be under constant bombardment from our friend, the Gulf Mexico, as it sends cluster after cluster inland. Of course the tropical low pressure area centered to our west and NW helps. The perfect push-pull arrangement.

This is much better than a severe drought. Right?
