A long line of thunderstorms, at least 200 miles long, extended all the way from Centre (Cherokee County, NE Alabama) southwestward to Etowah and West St. Clair County, to Birmingham and then down through East Tuscaloosa County to Marion and Camden.

Some of the strongest storms:

* Wilcox County
* Cherokee County

The part of the line that was moving across Jefferson County seemed to be the weakest although storms are very strong over SW Jefferson County.

The line moving eastward and a number of the storms feature strong gusty winds, heavy rain and dangerous lightning.

A Huntsville TV station is now reporting that one person was killed and 9 additional ones were injured when high winds interrupted the Air Show at Huntsville Airport this afternoon. The report said that the VIP tents and announcer stand was lifted off the ground and destroyed.

The Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues until 8 pm, although danger is over in
