A Flash Flood Watch continuesfor North Alabama generally from about I-20 northto theTennessee border. This translates from about Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Anniston northward.

We are getting a break from the heavy rain this morning as the heaviest has shifted northward but more heavy rain will move in later today. The ground is soaked so it will not take very much rain to cause some more flooding.

Thunderstorms will also become involved later today and some of those could become severe. The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has most of Alabama under a slight risk–all but the extreme north.

Probably the better time of that will be from mid afternoon well into the evening.

FLASH FLOOD WARNING
It is for Blount County in North Central Alabama. Flooding has been reported throughout the county and several roads have been closed. In one location, water was up to headlights on automobile. They are nowgetting a break from additional rain but that will change again later today.

Flooding has also been reported in Walker, Marion, Winston, Fayette and Lamar County

We will try to post a lenghty list of rain amounts later this morning.
