It has been a stormy afternoon and evening. This is the situation just before 8 pm:
Most numerous and strongest storms were over these West Central counties:
Marengo
North Choctaw
Sumter
Dallas
Hale
Greene
NWS/Mobile issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 8:45 for Choctaw County including the City of Butler.
Thunderstorms within a 50 mile radius of Birmingham had thinned in number and not as strong. Does not mean that we are out of the action.
Big thunderstorms over east Mississippi up against the Alabama border ready to invade Pickens, Lamar and Sumter County.
We still have to deal with those and that is why the Severe Thunderstorm Watch lasts until at least 9 o’clock tonight.
