A Significant Weather Alert is one level short of a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
The thunderstorms were moving slowly, sometimes drifting, generally toward the SW or west.
Marble size hail reported earlier at Munford, in Talladega County
Lightning struck Mount Zion Church in the Winterboro community. No fire but it caused a power failure.
Strong thunderstorm over South Talladega was moving into East Shelby County.
Streets were flooding in the B. B. Comer and Avondale Sections of Sylacauga.
Thanks to Brad Hays for sending pictures of dime-size hail at Wellington at 3:45 p.m. There was a considerable amount of hail and based on the pictures, some of the stones seemed larger than dime size. Wellington is located in Calhoun County midway between Anniston and Gadsden.
