A new severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the other counties of North Central Alabama down roughly to I-59…scroll down for a list of the counties…this watch goes until 5 a.m.
Going to be a long night…
A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for Lauderdale County until 10:30. It has expired. The storm had weakened.
A storm just across the Tennessee border from Madison and Jackson County Alabama looks like it will slide ESE into those counties over the next hour. It looks like it has weakened a bit.
The worrisome storm now is over NE Mississippi in Alcorn County, where you find Corinth. Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect, and radar indicates several TVSs along the leading edge of it.
It is moving into Tishomingo County, MS and will eventually head toward Franklin County. If you are in Franklin Co., you have about an hour or so. Tishomingo County is under severe thunderstorm warning.
Instability is slowly diminishing over North Alabama with CAPE values dropping below 1000 j/kg over the Tennessee Valley and toward 1000 j/kg over Central sections. There is a nice upper level wind max moving across the area and helicity, or spin, in the atmosphere is still high over North Alabama and pretty good over Central Alabama.

..Jamestown [Russell Co, KY] broadcast media reports TSTM WND DMG at 11:10 PM EDT — numerous trees and power lines down with about a third of the county without power
