Things are under control at this hour across Alabama.

There are flash flood warnings in the Northwest Corner of the state in Colbert and Lauderdale Counties where persistent showers and storms continue.

After a brief flare up across Central Alabama, things are fairly calm now. Storms are northeast of Jasper over northern Walker County, moving into Winston County.

A small shower was passing east of Brilliant in Marion County.

Others are over northeastern Coosa and northwestern Tallapoosa Counties moving north into Clay and eventually Talladega Counties.

A more widespread area of showers and storms is over southwestern Alabama from Pickens, Greene and Sumter Counties south and southeastward into South Alabama.

Look for more rain and storms to develop through the afternoon hours with a little sunshine drivng temperatures into the middle 80s to go with our lower 70 dewpoints. Heavy rain will be possible as well as some lightning. There could be strong gusty winds and the ever so slight potential for a small spin up tornado like yesterday, but not much to worry about.
