Radars are quiet across Alabama this morning. Showers and storms associated with our upper level disturbance are over Northeast Tennessee this morning. They are moving east.
The airmass over Alabama is just too dry to support shower activity despite the presence of the disturbance to our northeast. We will keep some tiny mention of the possibility of a shower or storm, especially over Northeast Alabama, but the chance is ten percent at best.
Satellite images show the most significant bands of cloudiness across Central Sections of the state, especially West Central Alabama. Those clouds should continue to break up and move out of the area during the day. Temperatures will warm into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees this afternoon.
Tomorrow will feature dry and mostly sunny conditions, with temperatures topping out near 80 degrees. Perfect weather for the racing activities at Talladega this weekend and the Magic City Art Connection in Linn Park in the City Center of Birmingham.
The basic upper air pattern across the country is a broad trough in the East with a broad trough in the West. This trough will be with us for the next 36 hours or so, keeping us in a dry flow. After that, a broad ridge will build into for the first half of the week.
At the surface, high pressure will control Alabama’s weather through at least Tuesday. No major wet weather systems are in sight.
