Well, I am running behind schedule, but here we go with a long list of low temperatures for this morning. The usual disclaimer that we get more than one report from some communities and the low for the official hourly reporting stations is as of 6 am. Often at times like this, we do not know the final low until noon (They report lows and highs every six hours.)
Will we dream about and long for this next July when it is in the 90s every day and the humidity over 500 percent?
Surely my little never-nicotine-stained fingers will be several millimeters shorter after this. Just so long as they stay long enough to grasp a pop tart or moon pie and hang on to a cup of coffee. Here we go:

I figured that -22 might be an all time record. Tom, one of our readers tells me that the record low in the park is -23 recorded in 1985. He was camping in Cades Cove at the time and the snow was deep.
MOUNTAIN CITY, TENN
I asked Bill McMillian, who operates the Mountain City weather site to give us a report in his area this morning. Mountain City is in Johnson County, in the NE corner of Tennessee and they get considerable “upslope” snow. Here is Bill’s report:
Hey, J.B., Thus far we’ve had a 4-9 inch snowfall across the county, but it’s still coming on down…expecting an additional 2-5 inches today. Ive recorded a wind chill index of 23 below earlier this am and winds are producing considerable blowing and drifting snow across Johnson County. Looking to drop to 0 to 5 above tonight with continued snow showers. ‘Gotta love upslope!
