Thanks to ABC 33/40 Skywatcher for the reminder that Andrew made landfall in Florida 17 years ago today… Mike has compiled some video coverage of the storm from the days when I worked with Dan Satterfield and Kevin Selle (yeah, the WeatherBrains guy)… check it out here.
I covered the storm on the Louisiana coast while Dan and Kevin took care of the weather office here in Birmingham. Seems like it just happened yesterday. I will never forget that possum in the tree!
