Lots of acreage got beneficial rain this afternoon and tonight. Will be interesting to check rain totals tomorrow morning. Lets tour the state at 9 pm.

NORTH ALABAMA
* Thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rain over North Jefferson County and the east edge of Walker County. This is part of the widespread rain that caused flash-flooding in Cullman County and it spread down into North Jefferson but not nearly as heavy. Some loud thunder occasionally over North Jefferson.
* An area of moderate to heavy rain lingers nearwhere Franklin, Colbert and Lauderdale join in NW Alabama.

CENTRAL ALABAMA
* Heavy rain continues over SE Chilton County. Much of the county has been drenched late this afternoon and evening. Union Grove, in North Chilton and east of I-65 reports 1.34 inches of rain. Some sections probably got a lot more.

FURTHER SOUTH
* A line of storms stretches almost all the way across Alabama from North Choctaw County near the Mississippi border east across Marengo, Dallas, Lowdnes, Montgomery, to Russell County. A Flood Avvisory is in effect for Montgomery County until midnight.
