Thanks to the fine folks at the Hampton Inn Trussville for allowing me to borrow a cup of internet tonight.

A massive power failure has affected the southern half of the City of Trussville tonight, all the way down Highway 11 to the Colonial Promenade. It knocked out not only our power, but the AT&T wireless service also.

Here’s the latest…

…House fire caused by lightning just east of Jasper…
…Leeds…Bryan Drive near new HIgh School nearly impassable
…Jasper…numerous roads impassable, covered with water in the City of Jasper
…Fayette…Highway 43/18 intersections impassable…under water

Flash flood warnings continue for Marion, Winston, Lamar, Fayette and Walker Counties.

A large mass of moderate rain covers those counties as well as parts of Franklin, Cullman, Blount, Jefferson, St. Clair, Shelby, Tuscaloosa, Bibb and Pickens.

More heavy rain to the south of those counties, especially around Marengo.

Heavy rain in western Tallapoosa County.
