Numerous wrecks are being reported on I-459 by State Troopers on southbound I=459 at MM 27 via John Talbot on Twitter.
This is just south of the I-20 interchange, north of Grants Mill Road.
There are injuries and extraction help is being requested.
Area roads are still dangerous where freezing rain and sleet has fallen. It is still a good idea to avoid travel for now.

Another pleasant fall day is on tap in Alabama as cool and dry conditions persist for another day. An upper-level ridge to our west and a building upper-level trough to our east will keep up in dry northerly flow with warming temperatures through the week. Continue reading

A strong, dry cold front pushed through Alabama yesterday, and much cooler drier air been filtering into the state throughout the night. This weekend will feature highs and lows quite seasonable for this time of year with elevated winds today. As we head into next week, an upper-level ridge from the west will cause temperatures to increase each day. Alabama will remain rain-free through the 7 day period. Continue reading
