A few network TV logos have gone “green” this week. You may noticed them on TV, but if not, check out the websites of CNBC, The weather channel, or USA nework. It’s something about NBC Universal donating money to plant trees or something.

However, it brings me to an interesting point about carbon dioxide, the enemy of our civilization according to many concerned about global warming. When we think about trees, grass, and other plants, they are all green. But they are green because of chlorophyll, the substance in plants that allows them to process sunlight energy into chemical energy (photosynthesis) and stay alive. And the chemical reaction that takes place is that water and carbon dioxide produce sugar and oxygen. So, without carbon dioxide, many of the green objects (plants) that you see every day would die.

Just an irony to me.
