I’m enjoying some great beach time at Fort Morgan, AL, just to the west of Gulf Shores. Weather has been perfect – perhaps not perfect for water activities, but perfect for just enjoying the warm afternoons and cool mornings, walking, a great tour of the USS Alabama, afternoon naps, and all around lounging. No serious weather here but a front is bearing down on us, though the radar is very sparse for showers in the Mobile-Gulf Shores area.

I’ve been enjoying using my digital camera and realized that I have a large collection of bird images from this area including sandpipers, herons, and pelicans. Don’t worry, the collection is large but I’m not going to make anyone other than my wife wade through ALL of the pictures. Got to say that those sandpipers are such fast moving birds that they are really tough to photograph! I’ve also included a nice shot of some sea oats with the Gulf in the background.

I hope you enjoy a bit of the nature I’ve seen here. Now for the profound question – why does vacation time go so fast?
