At least two small storms have broken the cap. Storm tops to near 15,000 feet. One is located south of Centreville, another near Tuscaloosa. Could this be the beginning of more widespread development of strong storms over western Alabama and eastern Mississippi? Not sure yet, but if they do develop, they could quickly become severe and rotate, with helicity near 200 and CAPE near 1000. A few more of these get going, and a watch may be issued by 2 pm.
