A patch of drizzle has developed ahead of a little clearing area this morning.

The light rain extends from Birmingham in Jefferson County to Ashville in St. Clair County.

This activity is moving southeastward and already weakening.

The clearing area is approaching I-59. It will be brief as the sunshine warms the lower atmosphere and stratocumulus clouds fill back in.

This will give us a mostly cloudy afternoon with some occasional peeks of blue sky and sunshine.

Temperatures are in the lower and middle 50s at this hour. They will peak in the upper 50s, with a few spots near 60 by early afternoon.

Skies will clear tonight and tomorrow should be a beautiful, sunny day with highs in the upper 60s to near 70.
