The NWS permitted the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for East-Central Jefferson County to expire at 4:00 p.m.
However, thunderstorms are still very strong over East Jefferson County. In fact, the big storm that was moving east from the Tarrant area has built southward somewhat into the NE part of the City of Birmingham. It is pouring over the NE part of the city with very dangerous lightning reported in Woodlawn. Overall, the thunderstorm is moving toward the east, but it is also expanding toward the SE and may give parts of NE Shelby County some heavy rain. Such areas as Vandiver, Sterrett and Vincent. The thunderstorm complex has broken in two and part of it is still fairly strong along the Jefferson/Blount County line. Another one developed further east in St. Clair County and was near Odenville.
