Alabama is quiet at this hour. As Claudette moves into Southwest Alabama overnight and Monday morning, spiral bands of showers and storms will spread northward. With a good deal of spin in the atmosphere to the northeast and east of the center, updrafts could start rotating, with the potential for spin up tornadoes. Although they are generally short lived and weak, some can produce significant damage.
