A number of hail reports this afternoon when some strong storms developed early in the afternoon and moved steadily toward the south. The NWS continues a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for North Covington County, way down in South-Central Alabama, until 5:45.
The storms were moving steadily south at about 20 mph and moving generally toward Opp, Enterprise and Brewton. Some of these strong storms are already crossing over into North Florida.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch continues for South-Central and SE Alabama, as well as adjacent areas of NW Florida and SW Georgia until 10 o’clock tonight.
While South Alabama got those big storms this afternoon, the north half of the state did not get a drop and that is where the worst drought conditions are.
