Guess what? We might have another derecho developing. It is over Southeast and East Central Alabama.

The huge line of storms extends from near Ashland in Clay County through eastern Tallapoosa County into western Chambers County west of Lafayette…then on to west of Opelika , west of Tuskegee and west of Union Springs in Bullock County.

This system has an increasing threat of damaging winds associated with it. Severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect from Tallapoosa and Chambers Counties southward into Macon and Lee Counties.

The system will continue tracking eastward into Southwest Georgia.

Elsewhere, some showers in the Birmingham metro area, as well as around Tuscaloosa. Other showers are in Perry County.

Some decent storms in northern Monroe County in Southwest Alabama near Beatrice, north of Monroeville.
