Very little rain across Alabama early this afternoon, but that will change later. In fact, there are some exceptions already.

Several strong thunderstorms over SE Mississippi were moving toward the ENE. Some of those were approaching Western Mobile County.

NWS in Jackson has issued at least three Severe Thunderstorm Warnings earlier for several counties in SE Mississippi.

Temperatures across Alabama have soared into the lower 70s over the extreme south, 60s across the central counties. They are cooler, in the 50s, across the Tennessee Valley.

We are going to have several significant stormy events over the next few days, so keep in touch. Showers and thunderstorms will increase later this afternoon, but especially tonight. Locally heavy rain is expected tonight. Showers should decrease Thursday morning, but some others moving in by Thursday afternoon.

Later in the weekend, especially Saturday night and Sunday, we will have more storms. A few of those could be severe with locally heavy rain.

The Storm Prediction Center has a Slight Risk posted from this afternoon overnight in Alabama generally west of a line from Florence to Birmingham, Montgomery and Opp. For tomorrow, the Slight Risk affects about the north half of the state.
