Showers and thunderstorms becoming more widespread across the south half of Alabama early this afternoon.
At 1:15, the showers and storms had spread as far north as Hale, Greene and Sumter County in West Alabama, southeastward all the way into NW Florida. Very heavy rain in lots of those storms.
Movement is generally northward but at a faster pace. The West Alabama storms will spread into Bibb and Tuscaloosa County soon.
Pouring rain in a number of areas of South Central Alabama and NW Florida.
Lightning detection equipment shows lots of lightning strikes over South Alabama and NW Florida.
NWS, Birmingham continues a Flash Flood Warning for Chambers and Tallapoosa County in East Alabama until 1:45 pm.
Northward, isolated showers forming over Lamar County and Morgan County.
