Thunderstorms were growing stronger early this afternoon across parts of Tennessee and a few even in Extreme North Alabama.

NWS Huntsville has issued a Special Weather Statement (Significant Weather Alert) for Limestone and Madison County in the extreme north.

This was because of a strong thunderstorm near Decatur moving east at 20 mph. It may have 40 mph gusts and frequent cloud to ground lightning (always dangerous)

Other communities in the path besides Decatur:

Tanner
Belle Mina
Madison

WATCH POSSIBLE?
The Storm Prediction Center is thinking of a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for much of Middle and East Tennessee that could include the Alabama counties at the north edge of Alabama adjacent to the Tennessee border.
