Showers were developing quickly early this afternoon, including some thunderstorms.
A thunderstorm was already in progress in the Trussville area and there were scattered ones north from there all the way to Arab and Ft. Payne in NE Alabama. Also, scattered storms over Clay County in East Alabama and over to Bullock and Barbour Counties in SE Alabama. Still others, widely spaced, were forming over SW Alabama and over Marion County in NW Alabama.
Movement seems to be slowly toward the NE.
At 12:40 p.m., moderate to heavy rain was falling in NE Trussville along with thunder and lightning.
