Central and South-Central Alabama is where the action is early this evening. A curved line of thunderstorms extends from Centreville to Clanton to Montgomery and southward to near Troy. This line of storms is moving steadily ENE.

NWS/Birmingham posted a Significant Weather Alert for Bullock, Montgomery and Macon Counties until 7:30. The storms were strong enough to produce winds up to 45 mph and frequent lightning and, of course, heavy rain.

While we are at it, here are some notes about damage. The EMA in Lowndes County reported wind damage at 5:36 p.m. with numerous trees and power lines down in the White Hall and Rudolph communities. Dime-size hail was also reported.

Thunderstorms were practically non-existent over the north half of the state early this evening.
