Flash Flood Watches that had been in effect for numerous counties across North and Central Alabama have been cancelled.
Most of the heavier rain has shifted down into East Central and SE Alabama.
If you are among the thousands of motorists headed out from Tuscaloosa in all directions, not to worry. The rain moved east of Tuscaloosa earlier this afternoon. So the weather is dry this evening in both directions on I20 and I-59 toward Meridian and also NE toward Birmingham
DENSE FOG PROBLEM
Tonight is a classic situation for possible dense fog. With an all-day rain (almost) and then clearing as night comes on, look for some patches of dense fog even early this evening. Bill Murray and family, enroute back to Trussville from the Alabama game report dense fog already forming in the Cottondale area east of Tuscaloosa.
Still may be some showers in Auburn this evening as the Auburn-Ball State gets underway but they should gradually decrease or move away.
NOW FOR SOME MILLION DOLLAR WEATHER
Great weather for the coming week. Sunshine starting tomorrow (Sunday) and then mostly sunny weather Monday through Friday. with much lower daytime humidity and cooler nights.
We are forecasting lows of 52 Tuesday morning and 51 Wednesday morning. That means the cooler valleys of North and East Alabama will have lows in the 40s!
How can you beat that?.
Seems like our wet weather has lasted for months.Of course it has not. I was teasing someone last week that our ground had become soaked so completely that we may be setting off some wet weather springs in China!
