Snow showers continue over parts of East Alabama tonight and could accumulate to one inch in spots, especially at higher elevations.
The NWS has posted a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 a.m. Monday for Cherokee, Etowah, Calhoun and Cleburne Counties.
REPORTS COURTESY NWS HUNTSVILLE
…1 mile NNW of Allen’s Crossroads in Marshall County…1 inch of snow on ground. Black Ice on Hwy-231 from that location northward over the next 5 miles
…Based on reports coming out of Morgan and Marshall Counties with numerous roads becoming slick or icing over…NWS Huntsville is going to put these two counties back in the Winter Wx Advisory. Light to moderate snow bands moving southeast out of central TN/north central AL also look to affect these two counties for a few hours longer…which is certainly not going to help the road situation.
…DeKalb County schools will be closed tomorrow due to icing in several areas
…John Talbot passed on a report as well from WAAY: All Geraldine & Crossville city roads CLOSED. DeKalb Co SO Advising motorist stay off the roads in DeKalb Co..
