Thanks to Chris Loney for these images of damage from the F5 tornado that moved through the Oklahoma City area on May 3, 1999… he writes:
“I thought you might like to see some pictures from the last F5 that roared its way through Oklahoma City (actual suburb city in the picture is Del City), since the anniversary is this week. These were taken a few weeks after the storm, so there had been time to clean up a bit. The house I grew up in was on the outer edge of the tornado and was not totally blown apart but the damage across the street for several blocks was substantial.
The first photo was taken facing NE. Tinker AFB is in the upper right hand corner. You can see a part of the runway.”
