Thought your readers might like to see this. I’ve always heard about California’s Redwood forests. I finally had a chance to see for myself this week. Incredible. The tree in the picture below is about 1000 years old. It was almost 200 years old when the Magna Carta was signed and had already seen half a millennium when Columbus discovered the Americas. Unless it is destroyed by humans or natural disaster, it can live another 1000 years! It has been scarred by hundreds of fires and submerged by dozens of floods. It stands higher than the length of a football field. It really puts things in perspective, doesn’t it.
