The 00Z GFS is in, and it is in line with our ongoing forecast, which mentions a dusting for Birmingham and Anniston, and 1 to 2 inches for the northeast corner of the state, mainly high elevations in Jackson, Madison, Marshall, and DeKalb Counties. Maybe 1/2 inch down into Blount, Etowah, and Cherokee counties.

Flurries are possible as far south as Mobile and Montgomery.

So… I won’t change much on the 10:00 weather segment. I did re-draw the lines slightly on the snow graphic that we will show.

A few quick notes:

*Out in Texas, parts of Tarrant County (where Fort Worth is located) had five inches of snow, but most of Dallas County did not see a single flake of snow. Dallas snow lovers are irritated tonight by the snow no-show.

*The main snow band is stetching out nicely from Little Rock to Indianapolis.

*J.B. Elliott’s name is showing up as the author of this post, but I (Spann) am actually writing this. J.B. used this computer in our weather office earlier this week, and he is still “signed in”! So, if this forecast is a bust, don’t blame him!

*Saturday will be very cold here… we probably won’t get out of the 30s. Gonna be a tough day for those with baseball or soccer games!

I will have the next full discussion and the morning Weather Xtreme video posted by 7:00 a.m.
