Thanks to Cathy Young of Pensacola for these images. She writes…
“Hi James: we just returned home here in West Pensacola from the beach and wanted to share some photos. Clouds started to form around 5pm today at Gulf Islands National Seashore at Johnson Beach in Perdido Key, Florida. Lighting began, wind picked up then the water spout formed. We watched it at least 20+ minutes and could see the whirling water on the gulf below the spout. Heavy downpour then a beautiful rainbow. All this happened with in hour! Tell everyone it is still paradise here with white sand and no sign of oil.”
