This report from Ronnie and Linda Mason in the Buhl community. Buhl is located in West Tuscaloosa County, west of the Tuscaloosa/Northport area and between Tuscaloosa and Gordo:

Buhl–during your first weather forecast at 5:18PM today, we were getting very heavy rain, approximately 2.30 inches, with 35 mph wind with heavy cloud to ground lightning and it rained for an hour on this dry hilltop in Buhl where it was so hot on Monday.

We really enjoyed watching the rain that we’ve received the last three afternoons since we have not received any measureable rain since the 15th of May.

And from Fayette Skywatcher Kris Gardner around 6:30 this evening:

I’ve been sitting in the Walmart parking lot in Fayette for 40 mins watching very heavy rain and sky to ground strikes each time it thunders my truck skakes so bad I think it will roll over Winds have to be at least 60. Rainfall over 2 inches is also likely.
